Can I Use an Online Estimator to Find Out What My Home is Worth?

NO! Everyone has heard of websites such as Zillow and Realtor.com. They are third party websites that aggregate public records and information to assign a value to homes nationally. 

How can companies based in other states like Washington possibly give an accurate value for a home in the Metro Indianapolis area? The answer is they can't. 

Their estimates of value are typically inaccurate (both high and low) and can lead to you making a decision for yourself and/or your family based on sketchy information. This causes unnecessary stress and real frustration! 

To find out the true value of your home, contact an agent in your local area, not an internet website!

Should I Price My Home to Leave Room for Negotiations?

This is a pretty common myth in real estate. 

Many home sellers believe they should price their home $5,000 to $10,000 higher than what their Realtor suggests to leave room to negotiate. This is flawed thinking in today's real estate market.
